Cheers to 7 Years of Julie M Gile Photography

This month marks seven years since I officially launched Julie M Gile Photography,  and to be honest, I still remember exactly how it felt.

When I signed up for my first online gallery software at $19 a month, I cried. Not tears of joy, tears of fear.

I was terrified I wouldn’t make it. That I’d cost my family more than I’d earn. That I’d spend too much time away from my kids for it to ever feel worth it.

But somewhere between the fear and the faith, I decided to start anyway.

Finding My Voice

Early on, I was fortunate to meet an incredible mentor, @jdpphotobiz, who helped me find my voice, my style, and the confidence to own both. She taught me that running a business isn’t just about taking great photos, it’s about building a brand, setting boundaries, and believing in the value of your work (even when you’re scared).

Entrepreneurship, I quickly learned, is full of highs and lows… sometimes both in the same day. But the one truth I hold onto is this: nothing fails unless you give up.

And I never gave up.

What I’ve Learned (and Loved) Along the Way

Seven years later, I can confidently say this journey has been about far more than photography.

I love branding.

I love marketing.

I love shining light on your stories.

I love human connection.

I love building dream brands for women so they can live their dream lives.

I love my clients; the ones chasing big dreams and the ones just starting to grow them.

Each project reminds me that my work isn’t just about taking photos; it’s about creating confidence and clarity for business owners who want to show up in a bigger, more meaningful way.

Gratitude for the People Behind the Scenes

To my clients: whether you’ve been here since the beginning or recently joined the JMG community, thank you. I’m deeply grateful for your trust, your collaboration, and your willingness to show up in front of my lens with authenticity and heart.

And to my husband: thank you for being my rock from day one. You’ve troubleshooted every tech issue, celebrated every milestone, and believed in every idea (even the wild ones). I truly couldn’t have built this without you, and wouldn’t have wanted to.

This year brings big, new ideas to JMG; fresh projects, refined systems, and more opportunities to serve incredible brands with intentional photography and strategy.
